The M56 motorway runs for 34 miles from the outskirts of Manchester to the outskirts of Chester and Ellesmere Port. The M56 passes Altrincham, crosses the M6 and passes Warrington and Runcorn before joining the A5117 / A494 to the A55 North Wales coast road to Hollyhead.
