The Orton Scar Cafe is a licensed café deli with seating for up to 40 people inside and 16 outside.
In summer the cafe is open everyday from 10am to 4.30pm.
Bright and sunny in summer, and snug and cosy in the winter, with a warming log burning stove. It’s a great place to visit, whatever the weather.
All food is made in-house using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients wherever possible.
Choose from a good selection of home made cakes and traybakes, soup and hot or cold sandwiches, home-made burgers, flans, cheese and meat platters.
Items from the menu are also available for take away, including, tea and coffee, cakes, traybakes, sandwiches, and soup.
The café is available for private events and parties of up to 40 guests.
The deli showcases food and drink heroes sourced from the Lakes and Dales, along with carefully selected produce from wider afield. The deli stocks a wide range of locally produced food and drink, including, cheese and freshly cooked ham; meats; jams and chutneys; cakes and biscuits; and local beers, wines and cordials. The cheese counter stocks a growing range of artisan cheeses from northern England cheese-makers, including Appleby Creamery, Leagram Organic, Hawes Creamery, Doddington Dairy, Caron Lodge, and Cotherstone. Many of the items in the deli are winners of the prestigious Great Taste Awards.
